In this blog we will share the secret study tips used by top students to get a 99 ATAR.
We all work hard, we all spend time studying, we all deserve to get great results. Sometimes it seems like no matter how hard you try, you still don’t get great marks. It seems like others are just naturally smarter. It seems like getting average marks is realistic. If you are thinking like this, then this blog is for you.I also thought like that once, as I kept getting average marks and could not understand why. But somehow I managed to crack the code when it really mattered and in year 11 and 12 did so well that I got over 99 in the HSC (end of high school exams). I went from being an average student in my school to being in the top 10%.
You can do it too, and I’m going to show you how.
I know you can do it, because you are here reading this blog. You are spending the time to learn how to do it. It means that you are willing to put the time and effort into it, and if you do that, you will get spectacular results. This is something I guarantee you.
If I may, I’d like to share a few stories with you, in addition to my own.
When I was at university, I saw a guy from my high school named Brad enrolled in a course requiring an entry mark of 96. Brad always used to come last and spent most of his time drinking and smoking at school. I thought he had come on campus to buy a bong or something.
I asked him straight out”Brad, what are you doing here?” He said “No, I’m enrolled in this course”. I said “Are you full fee paying?”. He said “No”.
I then asked him how he got in. He laughed and told me his extraordinary story.
He told me that in the 10 weeks prior to the HSC he had cut out drinking alcohol (underage issues aside) and just focused exclusively on study. He believed he could improve his marks. Somehow he did. His HSC marks were so high, and his school marks so low, that he ended up getting 96.I’m sure there is a bit of exaggeration in the story, but what I do know is his marks were ridiculously low for at least a large part of year 12 and he did manage to get 96. These are all facts.
There was another guy at school who was also known for getting really low marks who really pulled up his socks in year 11 and 12 and ended up getting 98.
I know he was not very good at school because he was in the bottom maths class through to year 10. I know this as I personally saw this happen.
I didn’t think he would amount to much to be honest, he was just not that clever.
However, he was committed to getting a higher mark. When he succeeded, I asked him how he did it.
He told me that he had got himself a tutor and went through the entire course of all of the subjects. He told me that when he was doing maths, they discovered he had tremendous gaps in his knowledge, due to years of fooling around. He had to simply fill in all of these gaps, he worked at it and he did it.
The point of these stories is to tell you that it doesn’t matter what marks you are getting today. You can get better marks tomorrow, in fact, I guarantee that you will if you follow this method.
I followed this method myself, so did all the other people I know who got over 99. I’ll be putting the method up in a series of posts and youtube videos.
